Multi-genre Research Proposal

                                     The Essence of Standardized Tests
All my life I have been preparing, preparing for a test that will help solve all my problems, and lead me into a successful future. As children we are taught that the ACT and the SAT are the most important tests that we will ever take. These tests ultimately determine our future, whether we will make it into our dream college, or our last resort. I understand that standardized tests are an aspect of life, but should they be?
I want to research this topic to help promote individualism in schools. People shouldn't be expected to live by the same standards because in the work place that isn't what is expected. Everyone should be tested on their talents not on their weaknesses. This topic will be very interesting. I can not wait to evaluate other countries methods of testing and understand the best possible way to lead students to success.

  1. I hate the ACT. It was so stressful and I don't think people should be interpreted by it.

  2. I love your topic. I feel the same way especially since I couldn't stand my ACT score the first couple times I took it. Then by my third I raised 3 points, but I don't understand why this truly matters. Students should be evaluated by their classes and GPA score. I think that's what colleges are starting to look into now. Good luck!

  3. I feel the ACT is not a true reflection of our abilities and intelligence.

  5. I have always felt like too much pressure is put on tests. It's not always an accurate test of someone's knowledge. Some people are simply good at taking test and some people really struggle with them just because they are tests.

  6. http://i.lvme.me/60sqsld.jpg I know it's not a popular opinion amongst teenagers, but I actually pretty strongly support standardized testing. Most times when I hear others complain about the ACT or SAT, I see it as just that: complaining. So I'll be extremely interested in seeing someone argue against standardized testing with some solid research behind it.

  8. This is a really good topic because our school system places so much pressure on these tests, basically our whole lives depend on our scores. A students intelligence isn't always accurately portrayed by standardized test scores.
